Samsung unveils all-new affordable Galaxy A smartphones

SAMSUNG UNVEILS ALL-NEW AFFORDABLE GALAXY A SMARTPHONES

Yesterday, March 17, as part of an online presentation, Samsung introduced a new generation of Galaxy A smartphones – the last figure has now changed to three. This series, unlike the Galaxy S, does not offer flagship models, but is not designed for budget models like the Galaxy M. During the presentation, the company showed two new items at once: Galaxy A33 and A53.

Samsung Galaxy A33

  • Display: 6.4 inches, Super AMOLED, 2400×1080 pixels, 90Hz.
  • Processor: Exynos 1280 (presumably), 5 nm, up to 2.4 GHz.
  • RAM: 6 or 8 GB.
  • User Memory: 128 or 256 GB.
  • Main camera: 48 MP (f/1.8, OIS) + 8 MP (f/2.2, wide-angle) + 5 MP (f/2.4, macro) + 2 MP (f/2.4, depth sensor).
  • Front camera: 13 MP (f / 2.2).
  • Battery: 5000 mAh, 25 W.
  • NFC support: yes.
  • Dust and water protection: IP67.
  • Dimensions: 159.7 × 74 × 8.1 mm.
  • Weight: 186 grams.
  • Pre-installed operating system: Android 12, One UI 4.1 shell.

Thanks to Samsung, the increased refresh rate to 90 Hz has become possible even in the segment of low-cost devices – naturally, the new Galaxy A33 also got it. However, belonging to the budget range still affects – the screen has a drop-shaped cutout for the front camera, and not a dotted one.

Samsung promises that the 5000 mAh battery will last for two days without recharging, and you can recharge using a 25 W adapter.

Samsung paid special attention to the cameras, in particular, to the night mode based on artificial intelligence. The company emphasized that it has improved significantly and, thanks to the combination of up to 12 shots in one, shows high-quality bright photos with low noise levels.

The Galaxy A53 will go on sale in select countries on April 22nd. The cost has not yet been announced.

Samsung Galaxy A55

Samsung Galaxy A55

  • Display: 6.5″ Super AMOLED, 2400×1080 pixels, 120Hz.
  • Processor: Exynos 1280 (presumably), 5 nm, up to 2.4 GHz.
  • RAM: 6 or 8 GB.
  • User Memory: 128 or 256 GB.
  • Main camera: 64 MP (f/1.8, OIS) + 12 MP (f/2.2, wide-angle) + 5 MP (f/2.4, macro) + 5 MP (f/2.4, depth sensor).
  • Front camera: 32 MP (f / 2.2).
  • Battery: 5000 mAh, 25 W.
  • NFC support: yes.
  • Dust and water protection: IP67.
  • Dimensions: 159.6 × 74.8 × 8.1 mm.
  • Weight: 189 grams.
  • Pre-installed operating system: Android 12, One UI 4.1 shell.

The Galaxy A55 is very similar to the A33 described above, but the “big brother” still has changes. True, they are only in the display (0.1 inches more, 120 Hz instead of 90 Hz) and cameras. Also in this model there is already a dotted cutout for the front camera, as it should be for older models. Otherwise, the smartphone looks identical, and the inside is the same.

Notably, despite having a similar 5,000 mAh battery, as well as a processor and display at the same frequency, the Galaxy A53 should also last 2 days on a single charge, although it has a higher screen refresh rate.

The Galaxy A55 will go on sale in select countries on April 1st. The cost has not yet been announced.
