New MIUI 14 Features Revealed: Easy Mode, Widget Customization and More

NEW MIUI 14 FEATURES REVEALED: EASY MODE, WIDGET CUSTOMIZATION AND MORE

Xiaomi has not yet announced MIUI 14, but continues to test its innovations in fresh test firmware builds. One of these (MIUI 14 Early Beta 22.9.7) has features and changes that were not there before: the most notable Lite mode added to the selection menu of the main screen of the MIUI launcher.

In the Lite version, the icons are larger, and the label grid is different: three applications are placed in one row (instead of four). This mode does not include the use of the application drawer, but it does have the usual three navigation buttons (instead of gestures): “Recent applications”, “Home” and “Back”. Lite-mode is clearly aimed at older users with poor eyesight and inability to gesture navigation.

There are not very many innovations in the new test build of the firmware, but among them there are interesting and useful options.

Another innovation also concerns the main screen: the standard MIUI launcher now allows you to turn off widget labels, thereby becoming more minimalistic.

The rest of the changes are minor. Updated the VoLTE icon in the status bar:

The pre-installed Sound Recorder application has also been redesigned.

It should be noted that only a part of the innovations is tested in the new assembly. Others appeared earlier or will come out later.
