If you want a new AMD processor, wait! Ryzen 7000 coming sooner than we thought

Yes, this is still unofficial data, and everything can change, but a very trusted informant reported that AMD will introduce the Ryzen 7000 before September.

At the same time, it was previously believed that such CPUs would be released only in the fourth quarter. Exactly when before September is unclear, but certainly not in March or April. It is quite possible that the announcement is waiting for us in August, and the start of sales is just in September. Or so. Either way, it’s not that long of a wait.

There are fewer and fewer reasons to buy Ryzen 5000 now from scratch, that is, not to upgrade the platform you already have. The new Intel Alder Lake is really cool, they are often cheaper with more power, well, AM4 is already everything, but the LGA 1700 will live for another one or two generations. If you want a new computer, it’s probably better to take Alder Lake now, with all my sympathy for AMD.

But if you wait, then everything will be much more interesting. Firstly, the same Ryzen 7000, and secondly, Intel Raptor Lake should also be released towards the end of the year. The battle will be hot.

If anything, let me remind you that the Ryzen 7000 will receive a new AM5 socket, switch to a 5 or 6 nm process technology and will be based on the latest Zen 4 architecture. They will also receive support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, it seems that all processors will have a GPU with RDNA 2 (but this is not yet accurate), but the number of cores is unclear. There are rumors that there will be up to 24, but there are also rumors that there will be a maximum of 16.
