Huawei managed to double the number of downloaded apps in a year

Thousands of Chinese apps have become world famous thanks to the platform, in line with Huawei’s Global + Local strategy.

Gizmochina noticed that during 2020 the number of app downloads in Huawei AppGallery has increased markedly – from 174 to 384.4 billion. This is due to an increase in the number of service developers – more than 2.3 million of them have already registered on the platform, but back in 2019 this number was 77% less.

Huawei is the third largest telecommunications company in the world. Its software store has over 530 million monthly active users. It was gaming applications that turned out to be the center of popularity. The platform currently offers 500% more software for gamers than in 2019.

Interestingly, the AppGallery platform has also helped over ten thousand Chinese apps to enter the global market. This has further expanded the capabilities of the software and games store’s global user base. The most popular are Banggood, Pascal’s Wager and Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade. This visibly highlights the company’s efforts to implement the Global + Local strategy on its platform.

According to Zhang Zhe, director of global partnerships and business development, Huawei, at the end of 2019, AppGallery had over one million users in 25 countries around the world. The platform is now popular in 42 countries. The strong growth in the number of users continues to be observed in the markets of Europe, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa.
