Bloomberg: Apple will release five new Macs in 2022

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman in his weekly “Power On” newsletter revealed which Macs to look forward to in 2022.

According to Gourmet, Apple is preparing five new computers:

  • the flagship iMac with a larger 24 “display and an ARM-based Apple Silicon processor that replaces the current 27” Intel-based iMac;
  • MacBook Air with a new design and an M2 chip;
  • updated Mac mini;
  • redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro – successor to the M1-based MacBook Pro 13 “;
  • the first Mac Pro with an Apple Silicon processor.

The journalist previously reported that the entry-level MacBook Pro will receive an 8-core M2 chip, like the MacBook Air, with a 10-core graphics subsystem.

At the same time, it is not yet clear whether this MacBook Pro will receive a new design in the style of 14- and 16-inch versions, or will remain in the same body as its predecessor. Accordingly, it is not yet clear whether it will have additional ports and whether the Touch Bar will disappear.

As for the new generations of the 24-inch iMac and MacBook Pro in a new design, there is no need to wait for their updates in 2022, according to Gurman.

In addition to the Mac, according to the journalist, Apple will release next year the iPhone SE with 5G support, new AirPods Pro, and an augmented reality headset.
