Sharp launches new QD-OLED TVs built on Samsung matrices

New Sharp QD-OLED TVs

Sharp introduced its first QD-OLED TVs built on Samsung matrices. The once-famous TV maker joins rivals Samsung and Sony, who have been releasing QD-OLED TVs since 2022. According to Sharp’s press release, four new QD-OLED TV models are coming in two series – FS 1 and FQ 1 . It is expected that new items will be based on the new generation of Sharp Medalist X AI processor .

According to the manufacturer, this processor analyzes more than one million images and can automatically adjust “colors, brightness and detail” based on this information to improve the picture quality. Also, AI algorithms are able to optimize content depending on what you are watching, whether it is movies, sports broadcasts or games. According to Sharp, the FS1 and FQ1 series TVs will be equipped with advanced display technologies, HDMI 2.1 ports, support for variable frame rates, Dolby Vision and HDR10, Dolby Atmos and WiFi 6. The new products are based on the Google TV smart platform with support for Chromecast and all popular streaming services.

Recently, QD-OLED technology has become increasingly popular. It is QD-OLED that has become the industry standard for the display technology used by leading Hollywood studios to evaluate how their films will look in your home. Why is QD-OLED technology so attractive? Much of this has to do with brightness. QD-OLED technology builds on conventional OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology and makes it brighter without sacrificing the black depth that OLED provides, which is where traditional LED TVs fail.

Sharp’s new QD – OLED TVs will soon go on sale in Japan. While there is no official information about when new items will be available in other countries.
