Hisense continues to intrigue with 8K laser TV

Hisense , exactly a year ago, at its press conference at CES 2022 , spoke about the joint development with Texas Instruments of a laser DLP TV with 8K resolution and support for a frame rate of 120Hz . A year has passed, and information appeared on the network that Hisense will present such a TV at CES 2023, which opens on January 5 in Las Vegas. Now they even mention the name of the model – LX8 K.

ImageAccording to unconfirmed information, the laser TV will be based on a new micromirror chipset from Texas Instruments with a diagonal of 0.94 inches. The main intrigue was the resolution of this chip. Recall that today all DLP-projectors with a resolution of 4K are based on a micromirror chip with a diagonal of 0.47 inches and a native resolution of Full HD ( 1920  x 1080  ) . 4K image resolution ( 3840 × 2160) is achieved using XPR (Xpanded Pixel Resolution) pixel shift optical system.

ImageIt can be assumed that the new Texas Instruments chip can have a native resolution of 4K, and thanks to the use of the XPR system, the resulting image resolution will be 8K. However, these are only assumptions – there is no concrete information on this issue yet.

It is also unknown what exactly Hisense will show at CES 2023. Will a prototype be demonstrated or, perhaps, even a pre-production sample.
