Qualcomm has unveiled the new Snapdragon S3 Gen 3 and Snapdragon S5 Gen 3 audio platforms, which it claims will provide “an unprecedented level of customization flexibility with a host of enhancements.” But it’s all about audiophile-quality audio thanks to the Snapdragon Sound processor’s support for lossless 24-bit/48 kHz audio streaming and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless technology.

The Snapdragon S5 Gen 3 audio chip architecture is based on the Snapdragon S7 audio platform, and it itself is equipped with a neural processor to use artificial intelligence algorithms in solving problems ranging from intelligent noise reduction to voice processing during calls. At the same time, the developers promise high sound quality and extremely low power consumption. The Snapdragon S5 Gen 3 platform, which will be the basis of premium headphones for the foreseeable future, also features 50 times more AI capabilities than its predecessor.

The Snapdragon S3 Gen 3 model is designed for headphones in the mid-price segment. The new product differs from its predecessor in lower energy consumption and smoother software updates.
