Meta updates Instagram Reels with these new features

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, has updated the  Reels on Instagram, bringing to the table functions mainly focused on content creators , and with which it seeks to remain competitive in the current landscape, since it is not It is no secret that TikTok threatens to take away the audience from any social network that rests on its laurels.

Reel trends

Instagram has taken over from TikTok and now features a Trending Reels page , which helps content creators (and users too) keep up with what’s hot. From here you can see the songs or audios that are trending, as well as how many times it has been used; just by touching the audio we can save it or use it at once.

In the same way, this section indicates the topics that are popular at the moment through #Hashtags.

Unifying all the functions of the Instagram Reels editor

Basically Instagram has opted to put all the editing options on a single screen (video clips, audio, tags, text, etc), which should make the process easier.

More statistics for Reels Insights

In the past, content creators have complained about the lack of useful data in Reels Insights, since total visits are not everything and it is important to know all the variables to correctly analyze the performance of our Reels.

To fix that, Instagram is adding two new metrics to Insights: total watch time and average watch time . The first metric is as its name implies, the total amount of time the Reel was played (counting repeats). The second data indicates the average time that the Reel was reproduced and is calculated by dividing the display time by the total number of reproductions.

Improved gifts

Finally, Meta will soon be activating Gifts in other markets and countries, specifically Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Additionally, a new feature is coming to identify fans who have sent donations.
