Monitor Audio Anthra: A new series of powerful subwoofers

Monitor Audio Anthra

The British company Monitor Audio presents a new line of subwoofers. The series is called Anthra and consists of three models with power from 425 to 1400 watts .

Monitor Audio Anthra W10, W12 and W15 active subwoofers feature 10″, 12″ and 15″ bass drivers . Diffusers are made of proprietary material C-CAM , in addition, RST (Rigid Surface Technology) technology of the second generation is used here. Special recesses on the surface of the diffuser play the role of a kind of stiffening ribs, providing an exceptionally fast piston movement of the emitter.

As amplifiers, impulse models with a long-term output power of 425, 900 and 1400 W are used here . At the same time, at the peak, it can be, respectively, 500, 1700 or 2500 W.

The walls of the Anthra models are up to an inch and a half thick, even the internal ties are made of 19mm MDF. It should also be noted the closed acoustic design of all models. Switching is possible both through standard RCA connectors and professional XLR. At the same time, both of them can be used to combine subwoofers into arrays of up to four devices. The rear panel also features a full color display with a rotary encoder allowing access to the subwoofer’s settings menu.

The most convenient way to manage is through the proprietary MaestroUnite application , where you can set a single DSP setting for all Anthra subwoofers in the system. This significantly reduces setup time and simplifies the process. All models are available in two finishes: black lacquer or matt white.
