LG SP11R: Top of the LG 2021 soundbar range

LG has revealed pricing and release dates for its soundbars as well as Bluetooth speakers in 2021. The lineup is very close to last year’s. Unfortunately, there is still no extensive information and images about LG Electronics’ range of audio systems. LG’s 2021 soundbar list and prices show that not much has changed since the 2020 models.

The main difference between the LG 2021 soundbar range is the compact QP5 Eclair Dolby Atmos speaker and the new LG SP2 soundbar. It is also worth noting that the soundbars have become smaller, more powerful and sleeker. Let’s take a look at the main features and prices of LG 2021 soundbars.

2021 LG Soundbars

It is certainly difficult to further characterize the existing lineup as the new SP11R already provides a 7.1.4 sound scheme with an external wireless subwoofer for Dolby Atmos , DTS: X via HDMI and eARC. If new devices are advertised again with HDMI 2.1, then we would like to have full support for the interface rather than the “fake HDMI 2.1” which consists of HDMI 2.0 2-0-hdmi-2-0a.html + eARC .

While rival Samsung’s soundbars are considered one of the popular choices, LG’s soundbars have the edge in customization from Meridian. Also, their neat appearance can make them more suitable for the interior. LG says most models other than the QP5 Eclair will be available in March / April 2021. The complete list for 2021 is as follows:

LG SP11R

LG’s 2021 soundbar lineup is topped by the LG SP11R soundbar. The soundbar includes two rear speakers, each consisting of a surround speaker and tweeter ring. All other soundbars with the letter “Y” in the name can be upgraded with the optional SPK8 speaker kit.

The slim soundbar is specially designed for the 65-inch version of the LG G1 4K OLED Evo TV series. Sound: 7.1.4 channels. Power: 770 W. Dolby Atmos, DTS: X. Settings from “Meridian”. Price: 1600 euros.

LG SP9Y

Sound: 5.1.2 channels. Power: 520 W. Dolby Atmos, DTS: X. Settings from “Meridian”. Price: 1100 euros.

LG SP8

Sound: 3.1.2 channels. Power: 440 W. Dolby Atmos, DTS: X. Settings from “Meridian”. Price: 730 euros. Size for a 49-inch TV.

LG SPD7

Compact design and compact white wireless subwoofer. Sound: 3.1.2 channels. Power: 380 W. Dolby Atmos, DTS: X.

LG SP7

The SP7’s 5.1-channel audio retains its versatile design but adds customization from the Meridian audio company. There is support for DTS Virtual: X. Power: 440 watts.

LG QP5 Eclair

One of the most striking models is the compact LG QP5 Eclair soundbar. At just 11.7 cm wide, this tiny speaker is reminiscent of the Polk MagniFi mini. The soundbar also offers dedicated Dolby Atmos tweeters. The acoustic panel comes with a wireless subwoofer that has a push-pull design to reduce vibration. The QP5 release date is June / July 2021. Sound: 3.1.2 channels. Price: 700 euros.

LG SN4

Sound: 2.1 channels. Power: 300 W. HDMI connection.

LG SP2

SP2 is a 2.1 channel soundbar with built-in subwoofers. The soundbar offers 100W of power and connectivity via HDMI and Bluetooth. The model is available in two colors: charcoal or gray. Price: 190 euros. Release date: May 2021.

Unfortunately, images of these soundbars are not yet available in the public domain. Throughout 2021, we will try to provide separate reviews for each soundbar listed.
