Fyne Audio introduces the upgraded F500S series speakers

Fyne Audio unveils enhanced F500S series speakers at Bristol Hifi Show

Scottish loudspeaker manufacturer Fyne Audio has unveiled an updated version of its F500 loudspeaker series at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show. The new F500S models, which consist of four different variations, are designed to provide improvements over the previous versions, all while maintaining the same price point. These speakers will come in three configurations and are expected to be available for delivery later this spring.

The refreshed F500S series includes four unique models: the monitor F500S, the floorstanding F501S and F502S, and the adaptable F500S LCR.

Fyne’s proprietary coaxial IsoFlare driver technology is fundamentally integrated into the new models, positioning the tweeter at the center of the woofer to establish a point source suitable for both music and home cinema applications. Initially introduced with the original F500 speakers, this technology has undergone significant refinement over the years, resulting in what Fyne Audio describes as improved isotropic energy radiation and consistent point source directionality, which together create an immersive and realistic soundstage. Additionally, advancements in technology contribute to outstanding stereo imaging, a natural midrange, and smooth, extended high frequencies.

The F500S is equipped with a 5-inch IsoFlare driver. The F501S and F500S LCR floorstanders feature a 6-inch driver, while the flagship F502S floorstander boasts an 8-inch (200mm) IsoFlare driver paired with a 25mm magnesium dome tweeter, all within an 8-inch ‘voice-matched’ woofer. Furthermore, the speakers incorporate the company’s patented BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser technology, which the designers assert transforms down-firing port energy into a smooth, 360-degree wavefront, providing a rich and controlled bass response that fills any space effortlessly. The F500S LCR has a unique construction, featuring a motor-damped Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) with low-frequency tuning to enhance its multi-directional placement capabilities.

The Fyne Audio F500S series is scheduled for launch in spring 2025.
