Cambridge Audio Evo S: Medium-sized speakers with a minimalist design

In addition to digital combines, the Evo line from Cambridge Audio will also include acoustics – the Evo S shelf units, designed specifically to work in tandem with the Evo 75 and Evo 150. These are medium-sized speakers with a minimalist design and a matte soft-touch finish. The symmetry on the front panel is broken only by the logo shifted to the side.

According to the developers, the Evo S tried to combine simplicity, flexibility in use, good looks and high sound quality at the same time. Their body is made of MDF, and the terminals are plated with gold.

An inch silk dome tweeter covered by a protective grille is responsible for high frequencies. The mid-range / low-frequency range is played out by a 6.5-inch speaker with an anodized aluminum cone, loaded on a bass reflex (it is brought out to the back).

Acoustics with a sensitivity of 88 dB and an impedance of 8 ohms plays from 50 Hz to 40 kHz and requires 25 to 200 watts of power. Small shelf units (284x200x216 mm) turned out to be relatively weighty – 7.1 kg.

In the US, the Cambridge Audio Evo S will cost $ 750. No release date has been announced yet.
