Aston Martin and Bowers & Wilkins announce partnership

Among all the gadgets that James Bond used in his Aston Martin from the DB series, a quality audio system was clearly missing, and Bowers & Wilkins has corrected this defect in the new Aston Martin DB12. Named after the initials of one-time Aston Martin owner David Brown, this legendary Grand Turismo takes its toll on the interior. Bowers & Wilkins partnered with Aston Martin to develop an optional surround sound system for it, marking the beginning of a collaboration between the two brands.

Here, Bowers & Wilkins applied their premium technologies – aluminum double-dome tweeters and Continuum midrange cones. A total of 15 speakers are provided in the system, powered by amplifiers with a total power of 1,170 watts.

In addition to the quality of the installed components, according to Bowers & Wilkins, where and how they are installed is paramount. Achieving the perfect placement, direction, and symmetry of speaker placement in a car interior isn’t easy, but the results are encouraging.

The DB12 version with optional Bowers & Wilkins immersive audio system was shown at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2023. The iconic DB12 model can also be considered because this year Aston Martin celebrates its own 110th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the DB series.
