Spotify app for Wear OS 2 smartwatches adds offline music and podcasts

Spotify has announced an update to preload music and podcasts for offline listening on Wear OS 2 smartwatches.

All owners of premium subscriptions should get this opportunity. Those who use the service for free will now be able to listen to music in random order (Shuffle mode) while connected to the network. Also, free subscribers were given the opportunity to download podcasts.

To save songs, playlists and albums offline, you need to update your smartwatch to the latest version. The “Download” icon should appear in the Spotify app. So far, this innovation is not available to all users.

To date, Spotify is the only platform to offer offline music on Wear OS. This feature was previously available on Google Play Music. It is not yet known exactly if YouTube Music will appear on Wear OS 2, but Google noted that this could happen.
