Facebook is reportedly developing a smartwatch based on Android . According to reports, future smartwatches will allow messaging via Facebook services , and will also support sports and health tracking functions. At the same time, smart watches will expand the ecosystem of technical means of the giant of social networks, which already includes the Oculus virtual reality headset, Portal smart displays, and others.
The first version of the smartwatch from Facebook will run the Android operating system . However, in the next generations of the gadget, the company plans to use its own OS, the development of which has already begun. It also became known that future generations of Facebook smartwatches will be able to work in networks of cellular operators without the need to synchronize with a smartphone. It is assumed that the first version of the device will be presented to the general public in 2022.
