Casio has expanded its G-Shock smartwatch lineup with a new model, the G-SQUAD DW-H5600. This is the first model in the series in which the case and strap are made of bioplastic (environmentally friendly material). The novelty has a small size of 51.1 × 44.5 mm and is suitable for people leading a healthy lifestyle.
The DW-H5600 line consists of five models, including the 40th Anniversary, which is a limited edition and comes with two detachable straps and bezels. All watches are made in retro style. They are equipped with monochrome MIP screens. On the rear panel is an optical sensor that is used to monitor heart rate and determine the level of oxygen in the blood. Built-in accelerometer allows you to track the number of steps. None of the models received a GPS module.

The devices are controlled by the CASIO Watches App. Previously, the G-SQUAD series used a different one – the G-SHOCK Move. The watch can be connected to a smartphone or tablet to track the distance traveled. It is also necessary to say about the Polar algorithm, which allows you to analyze physical activity, breathing exercises and recovery during sleep.
According to the developers, the bioplastic used in the production is not inferior in strength to conventional rubber. The battery capacity is enough for two weeks of use. You can fully restore the charge in two hours.
If we talk about additional features, users will find in the clock a standard set of alarm clock, stopwatch, calendar and timer. There is an LED backlight. The DW-H5600 has a “smart” alarm clock that chooses its own alarm time based on the sleep phase.
Sales of new smart watches will start on April 21. They will cost buyers 41,800 yen (~$312).
