Hisense PL1H: Dolby Vision 4K Laser Projector unveiled

Hisense PL1H
Hisense PL1H

There is very little time left before the opening of CES 2023 , and announcements of new products that will be presented in Las Vegas begin to appear. The Chinese company Hisense will show its new ultra-short throw laser projector PL1 H , part of the Laser Cinema series , which the manufacturer calls a laser TV. And this is despite the fact that the novelty, like the Hisense PX1-Pro model, comes without a screen – you can choose the diagonal and the canvas according to your needs and capabilities.

The Hisense PL1H projector has a 4K resolution and allows you to expand a 120-inch image from just 45 cm away. The novelty runs on the latest proprietary Smart TV OS VIDAA U6 and supports high dynamic range video not only in HDR10 format, but also in Dolby Vision.

The brightness of 2,100 lumens allows you to create a juicy picture with a diagonal of 80 to 120 inches. The X-Fusion laser source is made on a single emitter (blue laser + yellow phosphor) and does not require replacement within 25 thousand hours. The image is formed by one micromirror chip with a diagonal of 0.47 inches. The native resolution of the chip is 2048 x 1200 pixels (visible 1920 x 1080 pixels), and 4K resolution is achieved using XPR2 Shift pixel shift technology. The projector is claimed to cover the Rec709 color space by 114.7% and DCI P3 by 85%.

The Hisense PL1H projector is equipped with an audio system with two two-way speakers and a 2 x 15 W amplifier, that is, it is a standalone device – you just need to find a flat, bright surface for projection. In this sense, plus given the ultra-short throw optical system, the novelty is really similar to a TV.

Vidaa U6 Smart TV operating system supports Amazon Alexa voice assistant and Miracast technology. The remote control of the Hisense PL1H TV has also been upgraded with several buttons for direct access to the most important streaming services. There is a TV tuner on board that supports DVB-T2 / T / C / S2 and S broadcasts. There is also HbbTV support and a PVR function for timeshift recording to an external hard drive. The switching arsenal includes two HDMI 2.0b inputs (1 x eARC), two USB ports (1 x version 3.0), an optical digital output, a CI + slot and an Ethernet port. The novelty also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth version 5.0 wireless interfaces.

The Hisense PL1 H laser TV will go on sale at the end of January 2023. In Europe, the novelty will be offered for 2,299 euros .
