BenQ W5800: Flagship 4K home theater projector

BenQ introduced the BenQ W5800 4K laser projector , which heads the company’s series of projectors aimed at working in home theater systems. The new BenQ W5800 flagship projector is capable of projecting images on screens up to 200 inches diagonal and has true 4K resolution.

BenQ W5800 is a DLP projector with a Blue Core laser light source, providing brightness up to 2600 ANSI lumens and a service life of up to 25 thousand hours in eco mode. The new product is equipped with an optical system with 14 elements in 7 groups and a projection ratio of 1.52 – 2.45. The lens uses lenses with low dispersion coating. The optical system provides customization tools such as 1.6x optical motorized zoom and lens shift of ±50% vertically and ±21% horizontally, as well as keystone adjustment of ±35 degrees vertically and horizontally. The projector supports an optional anamorphic lens, which allows you to achieve a true cinematic 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

In Cinema mode, the BenQ W5800 projector can cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut at up to 1,700 ANSI lumens. Thanks to proprietary Dynamic Black technology, the new product is capable of achieving a contrast ratio of 2,000,000: 1 (FOFO). BenQ HDR-PRO technology ensures good color balance no matter whether the scene on the screen is bright or dark.

The switching arsenal includes two HDMI eARC ports  with support for broadcasting audio in Dolby Atmos format. In addition, there are two USB-A ports, an RS-232 port, a USB-B service port, an RJ45 LAN port, an optical S/PDIF output, and a 3D Sync port for connecting a 3D transmitter for glasses.

The BenQ W5800 4K laser home theater projector is available for pre-order. In the US, the recommended retail price of the new product is $7,850 .
