Chinese manufacturer of accessories and optics Shenzhen Jueying Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the Viltrox AF 28mm F1.8 FE autofocus lens for Sony full-frame cameras. At the same time, it is expected that the company will then introduce an option for the Nikon Z line.
The new wide-angle lens has a metal body and an optical formula consisting of 11 elements in 9 groups, including 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion elements. The multi-layer coating is designed to combat glare and reflections. The manufacturer promises soft and beautiful bokeh. Despite the high aperture, the lens turned out to be quite light (367 g) and compact. The minimum focusing distance is 37 cm.
The lens supports Eye AF, and its accuracy and stability is ensured by the STM motor. The body also has aperture and focus rings. The bayonet part provides a USB Type-C interface for updating firmware.
The Viltrox AF 28mm F1.8 is optimized for video shooting with quiet focus drive and minimal breathing.
