Sigma introduced the 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS super telezoom and the 23mm F1.4 DC DN ‘Contemporary’ prime lens for X-mount, bringing Sigma’s fleet of optics for Fujifilm cameras to 6 units.
The 100-400mm F5.6-6.3 is the second zoom Sigma has introduced for the X-mount after the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN, and the 23mm F1.4 DC DN complements the 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/ range of fast primes. 1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 are already available for this mount.

The Sigma 100-400mm zoom was originally developed and released for full-frame E-mount and L-mount cameras. Sigma says they have done more than just adapt it to the X-mount, they have updated the control algorithm, including an autofocus drive and speed optimizations for Fujifilm cameras. As a result, the lens not only has high-speed autofocus, but also supports AF-C mode and in-camera aberration correction.
The switches on the side of the lens are also optimized for Fuji cameras. Sigma says the autofocus setting switch will allow photographers to select the mode while the autofocus function button on the side of the lens is pressed.
The lens design consists of 22 elements in 16 groups and includes one FLD element and four SLDs, which Sigma says are used to effectively correct aberrations and distortion. It has an aperture range of f/5 to f/29 (zoom dependent), weighs 1153g, has a minimum focus distance of 112cm wide and 160cm tele.
The manufacturer claims that although the lens was originally designed for full-frame sensors, it will provide extremely high performance on APS-C format cameras, probably because the best optical performance of the lens is closer to the center, which is beneficial with a smaller sensor.

Sigma 23mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN for Fujifilm X cameras was announced back in April, at that time it was already available for E and L-mount.
According to the manufacturer, as well as in the super telezoom, the control algorithm has been redesigned specifically for the X-mount, it supports high-speed autofocus, including continuous autofocus (AF-C) and aberration correction in the camera.
The compact lens design is optimized for use with Fuji crop cameras.

What about the prices?
The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary will be priced at $949, which is significantly cheaper than the slightly lighter Fujifilm 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 which costs $1900. The Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN will cost $549, as will the other mount versions.
Both lenses will go on sale starting September 21st.
