Sandmark Microscope lens for iPhone with 40x magnification introduced

Sandmark has introduced a new lens for iPhone smartphones that allows for 40x magnification. And in the case of working with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has its own 5x magnification, you can achieve an increase of up to 200x.

The new lens received the appropriate name – Sandmark Microscope, reflecting its macro capabilities. The video published by Sandmark shows the design of the lens, which has many optical elements.

Another feature of the new lens: it has a built-in circular flashlight that can be charged via USB-C. This should solve the problem of lack of light, which is quite common in macro photography.

To use the new Sandmark Microscope lens, you need to enable macro controls in your iPhone settings. At the same time, the manufacturing company itself recommends using a special application – ProCamera to enable 5x mode on the iPhone. The price of the application is $14.99.

The company provides examples of pictures taken using the new optics on an iPhone smartphone:

Sandmark says the new lens is designed for both professional work and personal projects. It turned out to be quite compact.

There is also a comparison with macro photography on an iPhone without an additional lens:

Sandmark Microscope Lens for iPhone Specifications:

  • Magnification: 40X
  • Height: 12.8 mm
  • Diameter: 42mm
  • Field of view angle: 68°

The new lens is compatible with iPhone 12 and later models and is available for pre-order at a price of $129.99. The start of deliveries is scheduled for mid-December. The package includes the lens itself, an iPhone case, a clamp mount, a lens pouch, and front and rear lens caps.

It was previously reported that the LumaFusion 4.1.1 application was released with support for working from an SSD drive (when working with an iPhone). The application has functionality designed for video processing and at the same time supports a convenient method of control using the touch screens of smartphones (thereby simplifying installation).

One of the features of the updated program is the function of editing video directly from SSD drives (recording and editing on them is possible when using iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones). The drive connects to the smartphone via the USB-C port.

Price: $129.99
