New underwater box for Insta360 X3 is completely transparent

New underwater box for Insta360 X3 is completely invisible

The new $100 Invisible Dive Underwater Case for the Insta360 X3 camera lets you shoot 360-degree video, giving you a complete view under the waves.

Insta360 claims that the new box is better than the old one, not only does it allow the X3’s camera to completely “cut out” the selfie stick, but the box itself also does not show up in the frame at all.

“With new technology and IPX8 water resistance, the box is completely invisible and provides seamless, crystal-clear, seamless 360° video recording at a depth of up to 50 meters,” the company said in a statement.

According to the company, this combination of features makes the Insta360 X3 a unique tool and allows you to shoot under water in a third person, which was not possible before. The case has been specifically designed to work with the X3 camera and has a “super-tight” structure, which ensures reliable operation at depth.

The company says it has found a way to combat fogging, a common underwater equipment problem, and has made “significant improvements” to the design to combat it to ensure users get clear footage.

As a reminder, the Insta360 X3 , introduced last September, received a major firmware update earlier this year, capable of capturing 5.7K 360-degree video and 72-megapixel photos using two 48-megapixel 1/2-type sensors.

The camera works in tandem with the Insta360 app, which provides access to editing tools. Once the footage is filmed, it can be edited to show certain angles captured through a process called reframing. This makes the shots look like they were taken with multiple cameras, even though only one is being used. In addition, the Insta360 app and desktop software also feature AquaVision 2.0, an AI-powered tool that automatically corrects underwater colors for a more natural look, a feature that pairs especially well with the new diving case.

And the price?

The new Invisible Dive box can be purchased separately for $100. There’s also a $570 kit that includes the Insta360 X3 camera, Invisible Dive case, 114cm invisible selfie stick, floating grip and lens cap.
