Sigma is preparing to introduce a new telezoom lens for mirrorless cameras, the Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 DG DN OS Sports. The lens will be presented for Sony E and L-mount. The source published details about the future new product.

Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 DG DN OS Sports lens

Optically, the lens consists of 20 elements in 15 groups (6 FLD elements, 2 SLD elements and 3 aspherical elements). The lens will be of a premium class and will offer very high optical performance, both for photos and videos.

The Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 DG DN OS Sports lens will receive high-speed autofocus with HLA, as well as an updated optical stabilization system – OS2. The diameter for installing filters is 77mm.

Lens weight is 1345 grams (for L-mount), and 1335 grams (for Sony E).

L-Mount: 90.6x205mm
Sony E: 90.6x207mm

There is a switch for the aperture ring (click/non-click), two optical stabilization modes and stabilization off, focus range, focus mode (auto/manual), and C2, C1 and Off mode. There is also a programmable button towards the end of the lens.

Previously , the Sigma 10-18mm F/2.8 DC DN ultra-wide-angle zoom lens   with autofocus and weighing 260 grams was announced. This lens is designed for cameras with APS-C matrices. Optically, the lens consists of 13 elements in 10 groups (3 FLD, 1 SLD and 4 aspherical elements), which is quite unusual for such a compact size. There is an internal focusing system and an automatic focusing drive (stepping motor) – it should ensure silent and fast operation. The press release states that the autofocus feature is only supported with Sony E-mount.
