Cosina releases Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 28mm F1.5 Aspherical VM for Leica M-mount

Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 28mm F1.5

Japanese Cosina , together with NOKTON 40/1.2 for RF mount, presented another Voigtländer – NOKTON Vintage Line 28mm F1.5 Aspherical – a wide-angle manual lens for the Leica M system, combining “high aperture, compact size and excellent optical characteristics . ”

For a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 28 mm, the lens has a very high aperture ratio, which should allow users not so much to blur the background as much as to comfortably shoot in low-light conditions while getting sharp images.

The classic optical design consists of 10 elements in 8 groups with two aspherical lenses. Cosina promises excellent images starting from a maximum aperture of F1.5. The shortest shooting distance is from 0.5 m to 0.7 m.

The lens will be produced in four design variations. Type I is lightweight (250 g), thanks to an aluminum alloy body, Type II is made of brass and weighs 330 g. The design of Type I is reminiscent of the style of classic lenses of the 1970s, and Type II is reminiscent of the 1960s. Both types are available in black and silver body colors.

The focus rings have proprietary recesses for the thumb, and for Type II it is possible to screw a special screw into this recess and focus visually by its position along the axis of rotation.

The focusing mechanism is driven by a metal helicoid, providing smooth rotation and with a precise and pleasant resistance, which is traditional for Cosina Voigtlander lenses .
