Canon Zoemini S2 : Awesome instant camera

Canon Zoemini S2

Instant cameras are back in fashion. Today we are going to talk about the  Canon Zoemini S2 , a model that is sweeping the stores for its beautiful design, its good specifications and the advantages of being able to have your photos in your hand in a few minutes. It can be an ideal gift if you are looking for ideas for a Communion, for a birthday or simply if you want to treat yourself.

Canon has created a very interesting product if we are looking for a camera with a nice design, good possibilities if we want to take scenes or even print them on the spot on adhesive photo paper. In this article we tell you what this model offers you, what its pros and cons are and where you can find it cheaper.

Canon Zoemini S2 Design

This Canon Zoemini S2 has dimensions of 121 x 80.3 x 22.4 mm and a weight of  188 grams . It is available in three colors,  white, rose gold and green . Its design shows us the classic image of traditional digital cameras, separating us a bit from this concept of a more retro instant camera, such as the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 .

It is designed to take selfies, so it does not have a screen on the back but it does have a mirror on the front . If we want to shoot a scene in front of us, instead we will have to look through the lens to capture the scene. Here it does retain that retro air of the most vintage cameras. At the top we find a few buttons that will allow us to control our camera: power button, shutter and modes. In addition, on the sides we have some small indentations that are used so that we can hang a ribbon, a rope or the like to carry it hanging.

As an extra point in favor, it has a  ring light , which allows us to see live how we are posing and how we are focusing, in addition to taking well-lit photos.

The buttons included are:

1. Power
button 2. Shutter
button 3. Filter button (B/W/Vivid color)
4. Border button (White border/Custom border)
5. Slide switch (Landscape without flash/Portrait with autoflash/Selfie with light ring)

What can we do with it?

This camera offers us a two in one: we can  capture photos  and store them on a microSD  memory card of up to 256 GB or  print them  from the camera itself. Shoot, edit and share (if you want). This camera offers us a resolution of  8 MP  and has  Zink technology . It has an  ISO between 100-1600 , the white balance is automatic , the exposure is also automatic and its focal value is f/2.2 . The maximum resolution of the images is  314 x 600 dpi .

In addition, it also incorporates  flash , with a range between  0.5 m and 1 m  and the  self- timer  can be set to 3 seconds, 5 seconds and 10 seconds. Finally, at this point we highlight the  remote shutter  and  automatic shutdown .

App and connectivity

Its 700 mAh battery offers us a duration for up to 25 photographs and is charged via microUSB . The charging time is about 120 minutes , from 0% to 100%. So that we know what state it is in, it has LED indicators . The red color indicates that the camera is charging and the green that it is ready to be used again.

From the Canon Mini Print  app (compatible with  iOS 12 onwards and Android 6.and higher ) we can edit the photos we have taken and decide which ones we want to print, make collages, apply filters, etc. If we want to print the photos, we can  load up to 10 sheets of Zink photo paper with a size of 5 x 7.6 cm , which has an adhesive back. Printing time per photo is 50 seconds . From this app, configured on the mobile, we can  shoot remotely  or  see live what is being seen from the camera.

Having photographs printed instantly on adhesive paper can have many possibilities: for the youngest, it is an ideal option to decorate the school folder or notebooks; For the older ones, you can even have many options, for example, to decorate the fridge or create more original photo frames.

It is a very well connected camera and this is something that is also worth noting: it has  Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC . Thus, we can share photos with other devices wirelessly, even simply with a touch.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a camera that allows you to capture, edit and print, all from the same device, this Canon Zoemini S2 is one of the most curious and interesting gadgets you will find. A gift to look great or a whim for yourself that you can get a lot of use out of.
