7Artisans is preparing a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the production of the Sprite 24-96mm T2.9 cine zoom lens . It is designed for cameras with an S35 sensor and PL/EF mounts, and will also be available for Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF and Nikon Z. The company is positioning the new product as an inexpensive solution for beginning film studios. The lens has a parfocal design and weighs 2.4 kg.

Technical characteristics include control of the “focus breathing” effect, minimum focusing distance of 1 m, viewing angle of 18-66°. A 1.5x teleconverter will also be available, which can be used in conjunction with the lens to convert it to 36-144mm.

The price has not yet been indicated; experts expect the price to be around $2000.

7Artisans Sprite 24-96mm T2.9 Cine Zoom Lens

Every day we see more and more cine zoom lenses available to smaller studios, aspiring filmmakers and enthusiasts. Indeed, it is more profitable to purchase one relatively expensive zoom lens, rather than several equally expensive fixed lenses, and start making films. Moreover, the Sprite 24–96mm T2.9 offers both focal lengths popular for cinema and a good aperture ratio.

In conclusion, we remind you once again that this is not a retail sale, but crowdfunding, which means it is necessary to understand the risks associated with the preliminary collection of funds for the production of a particular product.
