Vivo X Flip and vivo X Fold2 make their debut

Vivo X Flip and vivo X Fold2

The anticipated presentation of vivo’s folding mobiles has had its time and place, no more leaks or rumors, we can finally afford to meet the Vivo X Flip and vivo X Fold2 in all their splendor and that is exactly what we want do on this occasion, if you like to join us, you are welcome.

Vivo X Fold2, the foldable notebook

As the statement above says, this is vivo’s foldable notebook device, the second in its series to be precise, and it features an 8.03-inch AMOLED LTPO internal screen , which is endowed with a 1,916 x resolution. 2,160 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 1,800 nits and other incentives such as HDR10 + and Dolby Vision.

For its part, the external screen is an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.53 inches, FullHD + resolution and the same attractions as the internal one, with the exception of brightness.

The hinge that facilitates the folding of the device has been improved compared to the previous generation and the mechanism should be more durable and imperceptible. It is also worth mentioning that on the back it has a synthetic leather finish, which is combined with a plastic strip and, of course, a circular camera module endorsed by the optics brand Carl ZEISS , with which vivo has a close relationship. strategic collaboration that aims to take mobile photography to the next level.

Inside it is quite a flagship, carrying Qualcomm’s star mobile platform of the moment, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip , which is backed by 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. Powering that set we will find a 4,800mAh battery with 120W fast charging, so you can refuel its full capacity in a matter of minutes.

On a photographic level, it is a beast that makes this collaboration with ZEISS worthwhile. In case you’re wondering, it has a triple rear camera headlined by a 50MP sensor with OIS , paired with a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and finally a 12MP wide-angle lens. The selfie camera is 16MP.

Vivo X Flip, the shell-shaped foldable

The vivo X Flip brings us back to the times of the Motorola Razr and “cover” phones with its folding design, which reveals a 6.74-inch AMOLED LTPO screen with FullHD+ resolution , 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ standard. Likewise, in the back it has another screen -also AMOLED- of only 3 inches and a resolution of 422 x 682 pixels, which mainly serves the purpose of displaying notifications.

According to what the manufacturer tells us, the vivo X Flip has a hinge with a lifespan of up to 500,000 folds and is supposed to remain intact even after the 10,000th time we bend it.

Under the hood it is very powerful and avant-garde, but not as much as the Vivo X Fold 2, since this mobile is satisfied with the first generation Snapdragon 8 as its nerve center. That said, the set is finished off by about 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. And to power all that is a 4,400mAh battery with 44W fast charging.

At the photographic level, it also boasts the collaboration with ZEISS, but this time it is a dual rear camera of 50MP + 12MP (wide angle). For its part, the front camera is 32MP.

With all that said, both phones are equipped with 5G connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS and run  Android 13 as the operating system , although of course, the interface is the work of the manufacturer (OriginOS 3).

Availability and price

Both phones are fresh out of the oven, so we still can’t offer news of their availability in Spanish-speaking countries, but what we can say is that in its homeland the vivo X Fold 2 is priced at 8,999 yuan, which at Today’s exchange rate would be around 1,190 euros . Meanwhile, the vivo X Flip has a cost of 5,999 yuan, that is, about 795 euros at the rate of the day.
