The new flagship phone iQOO 12 Pro has been revealed

One of the foreign sources revealed details about the future flagship Chinese smartphone – iQOO 12 Pro. From the details about the smartphone provided by insider Digital Chat Station, it follows that the device will compete with the next generation flagship Android devices: Xiaomi 14 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

In particular, the iQOO 12 Pro model will receive a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H matrix of 1/1.3-inch optical format and support for resolutions up to 8192×6144. OmniVision calls this sensor a flagship and emphasizes its capabilities in low-light conditions through dual-conversion gain technology – DCG. Pixel size 1.2 microns. This sensor supports 12.5 megapixel resolution at 120 frames per second, and also received high dynamic range (HDR).

The second camera of the iQOO 12 Pro smartphone is built on a 64 megapixel OmniVision OV64B matrix as part of a periscope module. It has an optical format of 1/2 inch, pixel size is 0.7 microns. It supports 4K photo and video shooting with electronic image stabilization, as well as 8K video shooting at 30 fps. By the way, this sensor supports HDR with triple exposure.

An insider reports that the iQOO 12 Pro smartphone will receive an advanced mobile processor SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (not yet officially announced). The same chip, by the way, is expected in the Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone .

The test results of this development have already been published in foreign media: in the Geekbench 6 benchmark, the result was 2563 points in single-threaded mode and 7256 points when using all cores. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the chip scored 1.71 million points (the top result at the moment), and the GPU scored 850,000 points. This chip will reportedly show performance identical to new processors from Apple. This processor will also be able to provide serious computing capabilities for hardware processing of photos and videos.

The display of iQOO 12 Pro, according to the source, is Samsung AMOLED E7 with a resolution of 1.5K and a high refresh rate of 144 Hz. The smartphone will receive 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of flash memory.

The new iQOO 12 Pro smartphone will also be protected according to the IP68 standard. A high-capacity battery will be installed – 5400 mAh with support for wired charging with a power of 120 W and wireless charging with a power of 50 W. The price of the smartphone, external design, as well as the exact announcement date have not yet been disclosed. Probably more information about the new device will appear later.

The new Chinese camera phone will compete with other next-generation Android flagships. For example, with the Xiaomi 14 Pro model , which will also receive an advanced processor and cameras, which will probably be developed jointly with Leica (as in the previous generation). The screen will have a 2K resolution and a dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. The refresh rate when using the touchpad will be 240Hz and 1920Hz PWM.
