Samsung is preparing to join the race of new generation flagship camera phones and present an advanced smartphone that will lead the expected series of devices – the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. At the moment, the source has published “live” photographs of the future new product (see the main picture of the news). The official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected on January 17, 2024.

The source reports that the pictures show a working sample of the device, and not its mock-up. At the same time, a number of other sources confirmed the high probability of the reliability of this information. However, no images have been published with the smartphone turned on.

In the images, the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a flat display and a slightly more angular design than the previous generation smartphone. Similar design decisions followed from previously published renderings of the future new product.

It can be seen that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone will receive four main camera modules , as well as an LED flash. The source reported that the main one will be the  200 megapixel Samsung HP2SX sensor, which will work in conjunction with wide-angle optics. Apparently there will also be an image stabilization system.

The second module of the future new product is Sony IMX754+ with a telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom. The third module is a 50 megapixel Sony IMX854 sensor with 5x optical zoom. The fourth module of the smartphone is a 12 megapixel Sony IMX564 matrix with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The main camera unit of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will receive an autofocus assist system with a laser.

The screen of the new advanced smartphone Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a diagonal of 6.8 inches and WQHD+ resolution with a record brightness of 2500 nits. The dimensions of the flagship device of the Samsung Galaxy line are as follows: 162.3 × 79 × 8.7 mm. The weight of the smartphone is 233 grams. Support for the proprietary S-Pen stylus will also be implemented. The smartphone will be equipped with a 5000 mAh (45 W) battery.

The smartphone will also receive an advanced new generation processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which will provide the highest performance and hardware capabilities for processing pictures and videos, which could potentially increase the quality of images obtained using the smartphone. Including, the smartphone will be able to record in 8K.

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will compete with flagship smartphones that also have advanced cameras and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. For example, one of these devices will be Realme GT5 Pro , which will certainly be cheaper than the flagship from Samsung.

In addition, the announcement of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone is expected in the future. According to the source, it will receive an inch Sony LYT900 matrix – this is a new generation sensor. This sensor has an optical format of 1/0.98 inches and a resolution of 50 megapixels. Potentially, the use of this sensor in the main camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone will provide an increase in the quality of photos and videos.
