RedMagic has introduced a new series of gaming smartphones, which includes two models: Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+. These are the world’s first smartphones in which the main camera module does not protrude beyond the rear panel
The basis of both smartphones is the eight-core SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from Qualcomm with a frequency of 3.3 GHz and an Adreno 750 graphics processor. Information is displayed on a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2480 × 1116 pixels, a frequency of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1600 nits . The smartphones support HDR10+ and also have low PWM, which reduces brightness through DC control.
On the back panel there are three cameras: main and wide-angle with a resolution of 50 megapixels and macro with a resolution of 2 megapixels. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. The devices run proprietary firmware RedMagic OS 9.0 based on Android 14.
The models differ among themselves in the capacity of the batteries and the amount of installed memory. If the basic version has a battery with a capacity of 6500 mAh with support for charging with a power of 80 W, then the older version has a slightly smaller capacity – 5500 mAh. At the same time, Red Magic 9 Pro+ supports a 165W charger. According to the developers, the battery of the younger version can be charged from 0% to 100% in 35 minutes, and the older version in 16 minutes.
If we talk about memory, buyers can choose Red Magic 9 Pro with 8/12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The plus version has 16/24 GB of RAM, 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage.
The ports in smartphones support the high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocol. New items also have a powerful linear vibration motor and stereo speakers. A powerful heat dissipation system is reported with a 10,182 mm² vapor chamber and a 22,000 rpm fan.
The phones were released in transparent and opaque versions.
