Pioneer UDP-LX500: Still a top-class universal player

The Pioneer UDP-LX500 player design features a three-block Ultra Rigid Construction and Double-Layered Chassis, a 6-layer baseboard, preset SDR / HDR mode and HDR10 / Dolby Vision support for picture quality, as well as high quality DAC and Zero Signal Terminal for full sound. The power supply, drive / digital processing, and analog audio are divided into three separate sections to eliminate electrical and magnetic interference between blocks. Heat radiation holes are eliminated to achieve a flat shape with optimal electrical circuitry and minimal mechanical noise from the rotating system. The result is significantly lower noise levels and an even more rigid and stable chassis structure.

Pioneer’s top-class universal player UDP-LX500 reproduces all disc formats available today: CD, DVD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, SACD and Ultra HD Blu-ray. The device supports the latest technologies, including Dolby Vision and HDR10. The floating suspension is housed in an anti-vibration case with a stamped honeycomb cover; all functional units are isolated from each other. HDMI uses patented PQLS (Pioneer Quartz Lock System) technology to minimize jitter when working with compatible Pioneer AV receivers. Two HDMI outputs allow separate video and audio streaming.

In the Pioneer UDP-LX500, the 1.6mm chassis base is reinforced with a 3mm steel plate with a rigid stand, this double-layer chassis structure provides a low center of gravity and overall rigidity that prevents external vibration from being transmitted to the inner chassis and provides excellent disc readability .Ultra HD Blu-ray is the latest disc format with a resolution of up to 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, four times the resolution of Full HD 1080p.

The main PCB uses a 6-layer IVH to completely eliminate digital noise, it optimizes digital signal wiring and minimizes GND impedance, as well as greatly improves the S / N ratio in audio / video signal processing, and 18Gbps transmission over the latest HDMI standard In addition to the Video Guide option, you can select LCD TV, OLED TV, or Projector to reproduce the original master quality for the video quality best suited to your display. There are SDR / HDR presets for each video parameter that automatically switches between SDR and HDR presets according to the output signal.

By pressing and holding the DISPLAY button on the remote, you can check the mastering information such as MaxFALL (maximum average light level) and MaxCLL (maximum light level) available for some HDR content, and HDMI output information. controller on a compatible PQLS (Precision Quartz Lock System) AV receiver removes distortion caused by timing errors. It controls the amount of audio signals from the AV receiver to the Pioneer UDP-LX500 player for the best digital-to-analog conversion. The Pioneer UDP-LX500 supports PQLS 2ch Audio, Multi-Surround and Bit-Stream. The Zero Signal Terminal is a Pioneer original feature for adjusting audio and video quality without signal transmission.
