Why does the Taiko Audio Extreme Router Wi-Fi router cost $6,600?

Taiko Audio produces not only ultimate streamers and servers – now a router has been added to the company’s product line for digital audio transmission. The Taiko Audio Extreme Router model is offered for… $6,600!

You can’t just buy the Taiko Audio Extreme Router – there’s a waiting list for the devices, and you’ll have to wait a month or two for your order. For the specified amount, the company promises “a significant reduction in noise by controlling the volume and flow of data in the network.” The device is aimed at creating a dedicated network for audio – the router has an SFP port and four RJ45s, as well as a grounding terminal with a hex hole for a 4 mm screwdriver.

Now the most interesting thing: the included power supply for the router is a simple switching one, the company recommends immediately replacing it with a linear one (this is another expense). In addition, the circuit can be improved by adding a Taiko Audio Extreme network card and an Extreme switch to the path. In general, the optimal network signal path, according to Taiko Audio, cannot cost less than ten thousand dollars.
