Topping has released two new models of desktop power amplifiers PA7 and PA7 Plus , differing from each other in maximum output power . The functionality of the models is identical, both amplifiers work in class D.
The Topping PA7 model has an output power of 125 watts into 8 ohms with less than 1% THD, with a resistance load of 4 ohms this figure increases to 200 watts per channel. The more powerful Topping PA7 Plus outputs 135 watts into 8 ohms and 245 watts into 4 ohms. For connection to a preamplifier, a pair of unbalanced RCA connectors and a pair of combined balanced TRS/XLR connectors are provided on the rear panel.
The switch between the two operating modes is located on the front panel. Speaker cables are connected to a pair of screw terminals. The amplifiers are equipped with an output level control, which can be bypassed using a special switch. The input sensitivity of the Topping PA7 is 1.9 V unbalanced and 3.8 V balanced, for the Topping PA7 Plus these figures are 2 V and 4 V.
The Topping PA7 and Topping PA7 Plus power amplifiers are available in black and silver and retail for $449 and $549 , respectively.
