Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition: The definitive version of the 90’s turntable

Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition

The Austrian company Pro-Ject Audio Systems presented a limited series of Pro – Ject Perspective Final Edition vinyl record players . Handmade in Europe, limited to 400 pieces and featuring a clear acrylic base, it is Pro-Ject’s first Final Edition turntable. Here, Pro-Ject pays homage to its past by maintaining the original design but using the latest technology and modern components to deliver 2023 performance.

Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition Turntable

The Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition player is based on the Pro-Ject 6.9 Perspective model, produced in the 90s of the last century. It was this model that marked Pro-Ject’s entry into the high-end turntable market, building on the commercial success of Pro-Ject 1 and 2 and bringing the manufacturer into a higher price category.

With a larger budget in mind, the 6.9 Perspective development team changed its approach from the super-rugged rigid-base design of the Models 1 and 2, one-piece tonearm and heavy platter, to the use of vibration isolation. In the 6.9 Perspective turntable, the tonearm and platter were located on an additional chassis, isolated from the main chassis by a spring suspension, which made it possible to protect these turntable components from vibrations.

The 2023 Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition player further enhances vibration isolation with a split subchassis and three adjustable spring mounts that prevent vibration from reaching the stylus. In addition, the Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition’s main acrylic chassis is supported by three height-adjustable aluminum spikes designed to reduce the contact area with the mounting surface, further isolating the turntable from external vibrations.

The 2023 Pro-Ject Perspective Final Edition features a two-speed motor with electronic speed selector, eliminating the original multi-motor solution.

The new product is equipped with a nine-inch solid carbon tonearm with a factory-installed Ortofon 2 M Bronze cartridge costing 399 euros. The player also comes with a dustproof acrylic cover. In addition, purchasers of the limited edition Perspective Final Edition receive a personalized certificate of ownership and can contact Pro-Ject directly to request a personalized serial number plate for their turntable.
