Pro-Ject launches X8 Special Edition turntable

Pro-Ject X8 Special Edition

Pro-Ject has expanded its X series of turntables with the limited edition X 8 Special Edition . The base model Pro-Ject X8  appeared in January of this year, but in standard finishes. The Special Edition variant is distinguished by its premium looks and the complete Ortofon MC Quintet Black S cartridge . The Pro-Ject X8 Special Edition player immediately attracts attention.

The combination of black lacquer and metallic coating on the edges of the table gives the model a strict, sophisticated look. The flagship Ortofon MC Quintet Black S cartridge was chosen as the pickup head. The cartridge provides extremely accurate tracking with almost no resonances and parasitic vibrations, high detail and a voluminous sound stage.

The Pro-Ject X8 Special Edition turntable features a massive MDF chassis on height-adjustable, damped metal feet. The total weight of the apparatus is 15 kg. The model has a massive aluminum platter. The disk bearing is equipped with a ceramic bearing and magnetic suspension – so the rotation becomes silent and smooth. The engine in the Pro-Ject X8 Special Edition is powered by a speed stabilization unit and is damped from the chassis to eliminate the transmission of vibrations to the turntable. Two speeds of disk rotation are supported – 33 and 45 rpm.

The tonearm on the turntable is a 9-inch cc Evolution tapered 100% carbon fibre. The arm bearings are precision ABEC 7. The turntable is equipped with a 5-pin balanced output for connecting to the balanced input of a phono stage – that is, you get a fully balanced circuit with all its advantages. To connect the Pro-Ject X8 Special Edition turntable to phono stages without a balanced input, a Pro-Ject 5 Pin to 2 x RCA cable is included.

Turntable Pro – Ject X 8 Special Edition will soon enter the market.

In Europe, the turntable is offered at 2,599 euros .
