Orchard Audio Starkrimson Duo/Trio GaN Power Amplifiers unveiled

Orchard Audio Starkrimson Duo/Trio GaN Power Amplifiers

In the wake of the success of the Starkrimson Mono, the American company Orchard Audio introduced the Starkrimson Duo/Trio amplifiers . In Duo configuration (dual mono) the amplifier works as a stereo amplifier. The Trio (triple mono) configuration is ideal for amplifying the front hemisphere channels in a home theater surround system, as well as for 2.1 audio systems.

Like the monoblock, the Starkrimson Duo/Trio amplifier is based on balanced double DC feedback modules equipped with gallium nitride (GaN) transistors. The fast switching capabilities of GaN transistors have allowed the designers to install a simple LC filter, which practically solves the problem of phase shift in Class D amplifiers.

The use of the latest gallium nitride (GaN) transistors provides less harshness, cleaner high frequencies, better overall transparency and detailed sound picture, as well as a slight noise level.

The Orchard Audio Starkrimson Duo/Trio power amplifier is implemented in a fully balanced concept and develops 150 watts (peak up to 300 watts) for each channel. At the same time, the operating frequency range extends from 0 Hz to 80 kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 121 dB. The amplifier is dressed in a stylish aluminum and steel case with high-quality gold-plated acoustic terminals and XLR input connectors.

The Orchard Audio Starkrimson Duo / Trio Power Amplifier will be available in August/September 2023. Pre-orders are already open – the amp will cost $1,399.95 for the Duo configuration , and you will have to pay for the three-channel Trio variant. $2249.95 .
