Rotel has updated its line of top-of-the-line Michi components with the Series 2 suffix in their model names, which includes the Michi X3 Series 2 and Michi X5 Series 2 integrated amplifiers, as well as the Michi P5 Series 2 preamplifier .

The three new Series 2 models feature 8-channel ESS Saber ES9028PRO DAC chips capable of processing 32-bit/768kHz digital streams. The power supplies, analog and digital signal paths, and audio filter circuits have also been redesigned to provide an even higher level of detail and fidelity.

The Michi X3 Series 2 Integrated Amplifier delivers unparalleled sound quality with over 90 individual component upgrades. The sleek and compact industrial design of the Michi X3 Series 2 fits comfortably into any living space while maintaining 350W output power (into 4 ohms) from a variety of sources including analog, digital, PC-USB (with MQA, PCM and DSD support), balanced on XLR and wireless Bluetooth with support for the aptX HD codec. Vinyl lovers will appreciate the built-in moving magnet (MM) phono stage.

The Michi X5 Series 2 Integrated Amplifier offers an enviable 600W of Class AB output (into 4 ohms). It has two massive shielded toroidal transformers of its own production with a low noise level inside. With over 95 component upgrades, the amplifier delivers music with breathtaking fidelity and incredible expression. Wide choice of inputs available including analog, coaxial, optical, balanced to XLR, wireless Bluetooth with aptX HD, PC-USB with hardware decoding support for MQA (24-bit/384kHz), PCM (32-bit/384kHz) and DSD 4x. For vinyl lovers, there is a phono stage with a choice of MM or MC cartridge types.

The Michi P5 Series 2 preamplifier has been enhanced with over 125 component changes. It reproduces digital music using two 8-channel ESS SABER DACs in mono mode, allowing you to extract an exceptional richness of detail from your recordings. There are analog, digital and PC-USB inputs with hardware decoding for MQA (24-bit/384kHz), PCM (32-bit/384kHz) and DSD 4x. Wireless Bluetooth with aptX HD support, as well as a selectable phono stage input for MM (Moving Magnet) or MC (Moving Coil) cartridges complete the choice of inputs.

The new Michi Series 2 models will go on sale in April 2023. The MSRP in the US for the Michi X3 Series 2 integrated amplifier is $5,799 , the older Michi X5 Series 2 is $7,999 , and the P5 Series 2 preamp is $4,599 .
