McIntosh MB25: BT receiver that will breathe new life into an old stereo system

McIntosh MB25

McIntosh introduced a new generation of Bluetooth receiver McIntosh MB 25 , which will replace the McIntosh MB20 model in the company’s range . Wireless music streaming directly from a smartphone to a home audio system via Bluetooth is implemented in almost any modern audio device. With the McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth Receiver, you can integrate Bluetooth streaming capabilities into virtually any high-quality home audio system of any age, whether it includes McIntosh components or not.

The McIntosh MB25 turns any audio system into an all-in-one home entertainment center. With the ability to function as both a receiver and a transmitter, the McIntosh MB25 is compatible not only with Bluetooth streaming devices, but also with audio sources such as CD and vinyl record players, bringing modern functionality to a vintage analog stereo system.

The switching arsenal, including optical and coaxial digital inputs and outputs, allows you to use the receiver both with an external DAC unit and as an external DAC unit. Analog switching includes both balanced inputs and outputs on XLR connectors, and unbalanced on RCA. The compact McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth receiver does not require third-party applications to operate. It supports Bluetooth version 5.0 technology with a transmission range of up to 45.7 meters and is complemented by an external antenna.

The successor to the MB20, the McIntosh MB25 retains all of its features but adds improvements for improved usability. Updates include a backlit glass front panel that provides information on audio signal speeds and connection types, as well as flexible input selection. The receiver also features power management, so the McIntosh MB25 can be turned on and off along with the rest of your McIntosh audio system.

Using Bluetooth technology version 5.0, McIntosh MB25 supports Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and Qualcomm aptX HD codecs. The new product is equipped with a high-performance 32-bit DAC for the receiver mode and a premium analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for the transmitter mode. The McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth receiver can work as a Bluetooth receiver or transmitter (but not at the same time) – the operating mode is selected by a switch on the rear wall of the case.

In receiver mode, the component receives wireless broadcasts from mobile gadgets and transmits them in analog form to the audio system. In transmitter mode, you can transfer music from physical media, such as CDs or vinyl records, to wireless headphones or Bluetooth audio systems.

Housed in an aluminum casing with a black glass front panel and illuminated logo, the McIntosh MB25 Bluetooth Receiver will seamlessly complement your McIntosh and third-party systems.

The McIntosh MB 25 Bluetooth receiver will go on sale in July.
