For the fiftieth anniversary of the iconic Linn LP12 turntable, the company released a radically updated (and very expensive) version of the turntable called the Linn Sondek LP12-50 .
John Ive’s company worked on the design of the model, however, the main differences of the new version of Linn Sondek LP12-50 are not in slightly rounded edges of the case, updated dust cover hinges or a new aluminum speed switch. The main thing that the new turntable can boast of is a modified body, it has become much thicker. The Bedrok plinth is made of many layers of beech wood, compressed under enormous pressure – thanks to which its anti-resonance properties have increased significantly.
The new Linn Sondek LP12-50 turntable will be limited to just 250 units and will be available from August 2023 to March 2024 for $60,000.
