Leema Acoustics launches Neutron preamplifier and Graviton power amplifier

Leema Quantum - a new line of electronic components from Wales

Welsh brand Leema Acoustics has announced the availability of its new Quantum series, which includes the Neutron preamplifier and Graviton power amplifier . The Quantum Series is Leema Acoustics’ first new line in over a decade. The Quantum series models have been designed and manufactured at the Welshpool factory in Wales.

The solutions and technologies used in the Quantum models are largely borrowed from the flagship Constellation series and have been optimized to make the products more affordable – the housing has become simpler, one was used instead of several power transformers, the topology of printed circuit boards has been simplified, but in general it has been possible to do without loss of quality components.

The Leema Neutron is a state-of-the-art preamplifier that leverages Leema Acoustics’ 25 years of audio design experience. The new product provides maximum transparency and high flexibility thanks to 13 inputs – both analogue and digital. The preamplifier is equipped with a high-quality MM/MC phono stage and an asynchronous USB DAC on the ESS Saber chip, capable of working with digital streams with parameters up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. There is also a headphone amplifier, and the volume control is implemented on a resistive matrix.

The switching arsenal of the Leema Neutron preamplifier includes 4 analog unbalanced line inputs on RCA connectors, as well as one balanced on XLR, an MM/MC phono preamplifier input, a USB-B port, 3 coaxial and 3 optical digital inputs. There are also balanced and two unbalanced adjustable analog outputs, a line output for connecting a tape recorder and two analog outputs for connecting active subwoofers.

The output stages of the Leema Graviton stereo power amplifier are made using Toshiba transistors (six in each channel) and operate in class A/B. In each channel, the amplifier develops up to 150 Watts when operating into a load with a nominal resistance of 8 Ohms and up to 260 Watts into a load of 4 Ohms. Both balanced and unbalanced inputs are provided for connection to a preamplifier.

Leema Acoustics Quantum Series components are available in matte black or silver finishes with aluminum front panels. The Leema Neutron preamp and Leema Graviton power amplifier  have the same RRP price in the UK at £1,500 . The kit will cost £2,800 . The new items are already on sale.
