The British company iFi Audio has announced the release of a new top-end headphone amplifier iCAN Phantom .
The stationary model has dimensions of 120 x 256 x 185 mm , it has two separate amplifying paths – a transistor in class A and a tube one on the General Electric 5670 , capable of working, according to the manufacturer, up to 100,000 hours . The device can also function as a pre-amplifier. On the front panel of the upper silver block is a large round OLED display, volume control knobs and input switching.
Six cards are included with which you can change the bias current to better match the amplifier with your headphones, including electrostatic ones. The maximum output power on a balanced connector is 15,000 mW , on an unbalanced connector – 5760 mW (figures are indicated for a 16 ohm resistance load).
The iFi Audio iCAN Phantom Headphone Amplifier will hit the market at the end of June 2023 with a retail price of £3,749 .
