CocktailAudio has classified its versatile audio streamer and N25AMP Hi-Fi player as an all-in-one system, adding an amplifier to it.
The device is powered by a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and uses a Saber 32 Reference DAC. The firmware is developed by CocktailAudio, although the owner of the N25AMP can use Roon as well.
The streamer reads content from both a local USB drive or sources on a home network such as a NAS, as well as from well-known streaming Internet services and Internet radio. In addition, there is a DAB and FM tuner on board.
Supported by Spotify Connect, AirPlay for iOS devices, etc. Also, a signal can be transmitted to the device via Bluetooth, and with support for aptX HD. The N25AMP also provides audio streaming to other devices via Bluetooth, such as compatible speakers or headphones.
If we talk about audio formats, then the list includes: DSD (64/128/256), MQA, DXD (24 bit / 352.8 kHz), PCM up to 32 bit / 384 kHz, including 24 bit / 192 kHz – this is FLAC, WAV, CAF, ALAC, AIFF and others. The N25AMP carries a proprietary multi-room functionality, there is an HDMI eARC input on board for a harmonious connection to a TV.
The device can also be used as a music server with database and storage. Among the network functions, UPnP Server / Client / Renderer and Samba Server / Client are supported.
All this music can be scored with the built-in 2×75 W Class D amplifier on 8 Ohm speakers. This is how the new product differs from the CocktailAudio N25 model (without AMP). System management is facilitated by the front panel 4.6 “TFT LCD screen with 800 x 320 pixels.
In Europe, the CocktailAudio N25AMP universal streamer amplifier will cost 1,200 euros.
