iFi Audio has released a wireless Bluetooth adapter GO pod for in-ear headphones, which also combines the functions of a DAC and an amplifier.
With it, the user can turn their favorite in-ear headphones into a completely wireless model, with virtually no loss in sound quality. The Qualcomm QCC5144 chip is responsible for wireless communication in the device , which supports LDAC, LHDC, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive codecs .
Digital-to-analog conversion is entrusted to two Cirrus Logic MasterHIFI series chips , and the built-in amplifier delivers up to 120 mW into 32 Ohms. There are separate switches for 16, 32, 64 and 300 ohm headphones, making the adapter compatible with almost any in-ear monitor on the market. The iFi Audio GO pod will last up to 7 hours on a single charge , and the included charging case extends total battery life to 35 hours .
The novelty has received an IPX5 certificate , which indicates good protection against moisture and dust. Two loops with 0.78 mm and MMCX connectors are included for connection to headphones , other connector options are available as a paid option.
The iFi Audio GO pod wireless adapter retails for £399 in the UK .
