FiiO UTWS5: True wireless Headphone Adapters with Increased Power and Hi-Res Support

FiiO UTWS5

The FiiO UTWS5 Bluetooth signal receiver transforms wired in-ear headphones into fully wireless headphones (TWS). This is realized due to the presence of two separate modules (for each headphone) in the kit.

According to the company, the UTWS5 model differs from the previous versions in its improved design and significantly improved quality of work. FiiO said UTWS5 “set a new bar” for all similar devices.

Both UTWS5 modules are equipped with AKM AK4332 Hi-Res converters. Qualcomm QCC5141 Bluetooth chipsets are responsible for signal reception: there is support for SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX Adaptive. The maximum quality is 24 bit / 96 kHz. Built-in amplifiers deliver up to 53 mW when used with 16 ohm headphones.

Among other things, the UTWS5 provides microphones for interference-free phone conversations, IPX4-level protection, touch control and compatibility with Siri and Google voice assistants. The batteries should last for 8 hours of music playback. If we take into account the charging case (with USB-C and Qi Wireless Charging), then in total the user can count on 30 hours.

To date, FiiO has offered a UTWS5 receiver with MMCX connectivity, but it is already known that the company will release other versions in the future. At least, a modification with a 0.78 mm connection has already been announced.

In the US, the cost of new items was approximately $ 130.
