FiiO FA7S: Stainless steel In-ear headphones with six reinforcement drivers

FiiO FA7S

FiiO introduced the FA7S in -ear headphones. The main feature of the novelty is the use of six armature drivers in each headphone. The frequency bands between them are distributed by a three-way crossover with a “2 + 2 + 2” scheme. In terms of emitters, the headphones use Knowles HODVTEC-31618 for low frequencies, Knowles RAD-33518 for high frequencies and DIBEI db646006 for mid frequencies.

With an impedance of 18 ohms, the FiiO FA7S sensitivity was 111 dB. The headphones have received Hi-Res certification – according to the manufacturer, they are quite capable of working with a variety of sources: from low-power built-in amplifiers of mobile gadgets to a specialized high-end portable.

FiiO FA7S weighs only 8.4g without cable, despite being made of 316L stainless steel, a material certified for medical use. The body is CNC-milled and available with black, gold, silver or blue finishes. Monocrystalline copper cable – removable, on the usual MMCX connectors.

A secure fit of the earbuds is due to the behind-the-ear fit. A variety of possible connections is provided by the universal plug with the patented Fabrilous twist lock, with which you can use 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm mini-jacks or 4.4 mm Pentaconn.

The options for the earbuds are even more varied. The set comes with three options that affect the sound character: “Balanced”, “Bass” and “Vocal” eartips are available in sizes S, M and L. In addition, there are foam earbuds, double and flanged eartips. The kit also includes a cleaning brush and a tool for disconnecting MMCX connectors. All of this is packaged in a sturdy transparent plastic transport case.

FiiO FA7S earbuds cost $ 360.
