Team Ninja has another game in development besides Rise Of The Ronin

Team Ninja has another game in development besides Rise Of The Ronin

Last September, Team Ninja announced a new role-playing game, Rise of the Ronin, but a recent interview reveals that the studio is already working on another unannounced game that should be released first.

In an interview with the Japanese portal Famitsu, Team Ninja head Fumihiko Yasuda said that his studio intends to release a new game every year, including this year. In an interview, he noted that the release of Rise of the Ronin is scheduled for 2024, that is, the release of the as-yet unannounced game should take place before the release of Rise of the Ronin.

We have been developing Rise of the Ronin for about 7 years now and plan to release it in 2024. This game will be released in 2023 and in 2025 we would like to release a new game. I hope I can tell you about it in the future when I can.

Regarding fan rumors that Team Ninja might restart Ninja Gaiden again or revive the Dead or Alive fighting game series, Yasuda revealed that the rumors stemmed from a “misunderstanding”. While he was unable to provide the interviewer with any specifics, he is clearly willing to share information about Rise of the Ronin and other Team Ninja products when the time comes.

I just said that we see them as an important part of the series. So I can’t give you any specifics, but if the time comes, I’d like to be the first to tell you about it.

Known for titles such as the Nioh and Ninja Gaiden series, Team Ninja already released a game last month: the ancient Chinese RPG Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. However, Wo Long came out on March 3, long before the publication of the Famitsu interview, and Yasuda confirmed that the game in question is “in development”, indicating that he was not talking about Wo Long.
