NVIDIA Announces Half-Life 2 RTX: Remastered Iconic Shooter With RTX Remix Technology

But the announcement of the remaster of the cult game Half-Life 2 caused mixed feelings among global network users.

Today, in addition to the new version of DLSS technology , NVIDIA, unexpectedly for many, announced another project – a remaster of the 2004 cult shooter Half-Life 2 from Valve. It was called Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project, however, the eminent game studio has nothing to do with its development.

The project is being developed by Orbifold Studios. The name speaks for itself. Here, modern NVIDIA technologies (DLSS 3, Reflex and RTX IO) will be involved, allowing you to take the level of graphics of a nineteen-year-old game to a new level. And the video posted on the network only proves this fact.

True, despite the seemingly loud announcement, it caused mixed feelings among netizens. If some were inspired by the opportunity to once again go through one of the most popular projects of the game developer and are now looking forward to its release, others doubted that the development of the remaster would even reach the release. And there is some logic in the words of the latter – the project is at an early stage of creation, so at the moment there is not even an estimated time frame for when Half-Life 2 RTX will appear to the world.
