Atari 400 Mini retro console released

After the dizzying success of the SNES Mini retro consoles, Retro Games Ltd. is back with a new model, the Atari 400 Mini. It is half the size of the original, and the design is also generally similar to its predecessor.

However, the manufacturer points out that neither the keyboard nor the slot for game modules in the Atari 400 Mini are functional, but are only decorative elements.

Instead, Retro Games has installed five USB-A ports into the console, to which you can connect the included joystick, a separately purchased gamepad, a keyboard or USB flash drive, and more.

The HDMI port ensures compatibility with modern TVs and monitors. With purchase, the owner receives 25 free games from the 80s, including classics such as Missile Command, MULE, Star Raiders II and Berzerk.

A special feature of the Atari 400 Mini is that the library of games can be expanded by loading ROMs onto a USB drive. The console is compatible with games for the Atari 400, Atari 800, Atari XL and XE, and Atari 5200. Players can save progress in one of four memory slots.

The Atari THE400 Mini retro console will be available in Europe on March 28, 2024. For $119, buyers will receive a mini console with 25 factory-installed games, a USB joystick, an HDMI cable, and a USB power cable. But the USB power adapter must be purchased separately.
