Microsoft has quietly updated the list of supported Windows 11 processors from Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm. The last time the software giant did this was last October after the release of Windows 11 22H2. It’s worth noting right off the bat that the system requirements for this operating system haven’t changed, so anyone hoping their outdated hardware might appear on this list is in for a disappointment.
Notably, in the past, Microsoft mistakenly offered to upgrade to Windows 11 for users of unsupported systems. It seems that this happened twice, and both times the company admitted its mistake. However, people have been able to run Windows 11 22H2 on computers with unsupported hardware, and some have even been impressed with how “magically” Windows 11 works on older hardware. However, back to the official list of processors. As for Intel, Core i9-13900KS with a clock speed of 6 GHz appeared here , as well as mobile Intel Raptor Lake (i5-1334U, 1335U, 1335UE, 13500HS and others).
With AMD, things are much more interesting. Processors with 3D V-Cache cache have been added to the list . These are the AM4-based 5800X3D, and the newer AM5-based 7950X3D, 7900X3D, and 7800X3D. Other models include Ryzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500, 5500, 5600 (all on AM4) and Ryzen 7 7700, Ryzen 5 7600 (all on AM5). You can also find several older generation AMD processors. In terms of mobile options, there’s the Ryzen 5 5625U, 5625C (Chromebook version), Ryzen 3 5425U, and a handful of 7000U series models.
Finally, the list has expanded the list of Qualcomm processors , which now has Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 and Microsoft SQ3.
